That's pretty rough. I've known people who got burnt out after working a year of 7 on and 7 off shift. I think initially it was cool to have a vacation every other week, but it really messed up their sleep pattern.

Yes, it's ok if you're young but after 30 it gets tough.

Home at 22:30 after a 14hr shift. Destressing in the best way possible...

I somehow remember Carling, but haven't seen it in years. The label doesn't look familiar. Maybe its something that would cross the border from Canada?

Re: Stress
I like the schedule I have for work, I'm currently on a 8 on, 6 off. There is talk we might move to a 4 and 3, and personally that sucks.
Ive been thinking for awhile now, that in order to hit retirement projections, I should really supplement my income. It's not like I dont have enough down time, another reason I love my schedule.
A coworker owns a "hobby farm" in the middle of nowhere, I bought a half a lamb off him, and was so fantastic, I might continue to do so for many years.
I'm a heavy equipment technician by trade, but there really is no legal way to do that job in my backyard.
I know a lot of people, here and the boards, who have combined their hobby and income with comics and other collectibles. I am envious at such achievements, because when it comes to that stuff, I cant project what other people will like, only myself, even though the things I like to collect seem to really take off at the most inopportune times.
Pam has taken up knitting, she made and sold masks when the pandemic started, and there really was such a high demand, she just couldn't keep up, then the legislation went through on what was an acceptable mask anyways. She is currently knitting Christmas presents.
I sit around, watch Netflix and play video games. I'll take on the occasional electronic repair. For instance I bought 3 broken ps3s to repair. That'll occupy me for a week or two, then back to square one. I'm not sure if I lack imagination or what, but I just cannot come up with anything to do with myself.
Suggestions?

Re: Stress
I've thought about taking up woodworking as a hobby and if I'm any good at it probably turn it into a small business later in life. Right now I'm just selling my drek so that I don't have so many boxes when it comes time to move out of California when I retire. I have about 100 long boxes to go so it's going to be a long time to get through that garbage.

It's a large collection, but unfortunately most aren't too valuable. Probably 20% of the stuff are decent to good stuff. The others are just dollar comic stuff that I should blow out some day.

Re: Stress
Well Sunday is going to be my last day off until the 25th. Managing a retail store sucks during the holidays, but at least I'm still healthy and have a job.
